9/21/06 07:00 pm - Kaya UpdateWe took Kaya to her her first studio photo shoot last week. It was so cute. I dressed her in her pink party dress, white stockings and white baby doll shoes - not the patent ones like those I had when i was a kid because I couldn't find any. I only managed to find the ones that were made of like soft cotton with Velcro straps. She couldn't walk in them but they were cute. She didn't want to smile at first because I think the photographer freaked her out. Strangers generally do that to her. To add to that, I forgot to pack her favorite toy. Her dad and I had to make faces until she finally loosened up and started clapping. When she started giggling and squealing, the photographer snapped away. It was so difficult to choose just 2 poses! She had many cute shots. Oh well. I'm thinking of having more pictures taken of her at the studio when she turns two. Speaking of walking, she can't yet. I've asked her pedia about it but he told us not to worry. Kaya cannot walk yet. She 'cruises', gets round by holding on to furniture around her. She can get from the living room to the kitchen doing so! Haha. Cy and I are amazed at how perceptive she is. She has so many adorable antics. She makes the sound of the rooster, the lion, JJ (our dog) and an Indian (by clapping her palm to her mouth and making a wowowow sound) when prompted. She learned to blow kisses really early. She can identify her toys. Ask her to give you Elmo and she'll do it. Ask her for Platty the platypus and she'll give it to you. She doesn't mix them up. She points to clothes and shoes she prefers wearing. The best thing is that she knows how to kiss now, with matching smacking sound! She really plants it on my lips and on her dad's. However, she gets mad and shouts and stomps her feet when she sees her dad hugging me and kissing me. She gets jealous!!! Haha. When this happens, her dad picks her up and tells her, "I love mommy because she gave me you but you're my only princess!" Sigh. |
8/17/06 02:29 pm - Kaya's 1st Birthday Party |
7/13/06 07:24 pmYesterday was really productive. I did my errands and had dinner for a mini-celebration for my parents-in-law. I also spent time with Kaya and went to Cy's gig. I'm exhausted! Here are the pictures. It's almost the weekend. Thank God. |

7/6/06 07:30 pm - Last NightFirst off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Last night was super fun. Amazing how people I haven't seen in ages just turn up all at once in one place. When Cy and I go out, he's usually the one who gets stopped by people he knows to catch up and exchange casual pleasantries, but that night, it seemed like people who I thought fell off the face of the earth just suddenly reappeared, whcih prompted Cy to go, "O, kadaghan ba nimo'g kaila." Much love goes out to Hahahahahahahaha! Pictures here. |
6/28/06 05:26 am - I want...... a tiny black string bikini with pink polka dots.
|
6/20/06 08:35 am - Blah, blahI had a great weekend despite the fact that Cy had work since he had his rest days on Thursday and Friday. I went out with my best friend, Karen, and we went to this ukay-ukay place in Coco Mall. Funny how I saw Jimmy and his girlfriend there! Of all places, why should I bump into him there, right?
Karen is always a great ukay-ukay companion because she will honestly give you her opinion. She'll say things like, "No, don't get that. That'll make your ass look huge" or "Not good for your skin color". In the end, Karen scored 2 skirts, a cardigan and a 3/4-sleeved top. All for the office. I got a jersey top with an assymetrical hem which would be great with my new belt plus a gray top with gold embellishments. Both look very Topshop, I swear. Haha! I'll post pictures soon. My good friend from college, Muriel, YMed me yesterday, and she just got back from the US. I miss her. I miss eating at Cibo with you. I want new shoes (the turquoise Janylin pumps) but Cyrus said 14 pairs are enough. There's no arguing with him if he thinks he's right. I swear, he's the only person who can control my shopping impulses. I'm making no sense. I feel so bad. I seriously lack sleep. I'm sick because my sinuses hurt. That, and I miss my sister who's away at college. I wonder, did my siblings miss me when I was away? At least, my perfectly French-tipped nails are making me happy. I'm currently going for the school girl-inspired look with my wide white head band reminiscent of my STC days. I'm lying. It's just that I'm growing my hair (just to see how I'll look like) and it's an awkward phase right now and I hate it. I wish not too many girls would wear skirts as short as mine if their legs are not clean and smooth. I mean, if you were gonna 'show' something to the public, make them presentable. And don't you hate it when people copy a look (twillies on the head, huge hoop earrings and mini skrts) you've been sporting for the longest time? Cue for me to move on. |
6/9/06 03:36 pmI'm so tired to make a decent and coherent entry about my very recent trip to Manila so I'll just recap in bullet points the highlights of the 5 days we were there.
We went back to Cebu the next day and needless to say, we had fun. It was great to forget about work for a while and spend time with people you love most. And by the way, what's up with the pink fences around the metropolis? |

5/29/06 12:40 pmThe rainy season is upon us again so boohoo... good-bye, summer. :( |
5/23/06 07:36 am - Happy, happyWhat an amazing way to turn 24! At the last minte, Cy and I decided to have some friends over for dinner at my house. We didn't really do anything for his birthday on May 6th (except have take-out Chinese) so we decided to celebrate our birthdays together. We're happy that our friends were able to come. :) There was a bit of confusion coz we held it on May 16, which was a day before my birthday. Some of our friends thought we were having it on the day itself but we sorted things out and they were able to come.
It wasn't anything fancy but we had fun nevertheless. I even got real pretty Colorstone earrings from The Bohol trip last weekend was really fun. It was my second time to go there but this time, I got to see the touristy sights and all. I actually just tagged along coz it was his team's outing. The whole thing was super fun. Since we signed up for a tour package, we didn't have to worry about food and transportation and those things. There was an itinerary and it made the entire trip really organized. It was a feat considering the fact that there were about 30 of us. We rode the OceanJet to Tagbilaran and got on the bus. It was super funny coz there was videoke on the bus! No one wanted to take the mic at first but soon enough, everyone (except Cy and I) took turns grabbing it to sing to Abba, Bread and The Carpenters. It was hilarious. We stopped to take pictures at the site where they (who are 'they'? I honestly dunno. Hehe!) had the first blood compact. Then we went to this place where you can see tarsiers. They were the cutest! I felt sorry for them, though. That's why I didn't take pictures of them. Then we went on a cruise on Loboc River. It was really pretty. We were aboard a floating restaurant. It was part of the package that we can have the entire thing to ourselves. It actually started to drizzle but the skies cleared up soon after. There was even an acoustic gig prepared for us. The guy singing had a cowboy hat on and his guitar was slung over his houlder. Very country-looking. Hahaha! He really took his job seriously. Everyone was having a good time. We had smoked fish and mangoes and chicken. We saw mini-falls and just took pictures. After that, we boarded the bus again and went to this place where you can have a great view of what Bohol is really famous for - The Chocolate Hills. We had to climb a hundred or so steps to get to the top. The sweet reward was looking around and being surrounded by giant clumps of earth. Perfectly shaped hills covered in green! It was amazing coz they looked excatly like the ones in pictures in my grade school Araling Panlipunan (or was it Sibika at Kultura?) books! I felt like a kid. When we went down, we got on the bus again and passed by the man-made forest. It was super pretty. Lots and lots of towering trees. The sun was setting that time and the light was being filtered by the branches. Maaan. :) We stopped by the oldest coral church in the Philippines - Baclayon Church. It was creepy. I didn't really like it. I was too weirded out when I saw a tomb marker in the church. I looked at the date and the name. It was a nun who died in 1869. I became jittery. Hahaha! I'm such a scaredy cat, I swear. Even the belfry looked scary. Maybe it wouldn't have been so creepy if it weren't dusk. Everything was getting dark so my imagination was going on overtime. We also stopped by to buy pasalubong and Cy was laughing coz I hoarded peanut kisses. They're a favorite. :) We got on the bus again and headed to where we were staying - Bitaug Beach Resort on Panglao. We didn't stay in their cottages. Instead, we had a house to ourselves. And it wasn't just an ordinary house! It was a really huge summer rest house. I think some wealthy family owns it and they just rent it out to people when they're not staying there. They were joking that it looked like the summer version of Bahay ni Kuya, the PBB house. Haha! There was a pool table and 2 swimming pools. It was perfect. The house help were the nicest, kindest people that side of the island. They just talked in a funny way, though. They had a really charming accent. They spoke Bisaya but it's not Cebuano Bisaya. They'd say 'lami' even when they're not referring to something edible, like "Lami kaayo imong blouse." I kept cracking up. And their 'dong' is 'doy'. They'd go, "Mag-snorkel mo ugma, doy?" Oh! And they also say 'view' (pronounced 'byu') if they find something nice. Hence, "Byu kaayo ang adlaw ugma sayo sa buntag didto sa inyong kwarto, doy. Tan-awa jud ninyo." She was right, though. The sunrise was breathtaking. Everyone fell asleep semi-drunk but we woke up to yummy breakfast. I hit the pool after eating and then we all went on a 20-minute boat ride to neighboring Balicasag Island. How I wish I had an underwater camera. The sights I saw cannot be done justice with words. We went snorkeling and saw lots of fish. Cy saw a manta ray! I'm so jealous. The fish (they came in so many colors! My favorite were the ones with splashes of neon pink, bright blue and neon green) ate bread right from our hands. The corals were all amazing and I didn't wanna leave. But the manong boat driver (?) said he can take us to a beautiful sandbar and for me, that was the highlight of the entire trip. It had pristine white sand and sparkling clear waters. Cy was lucky to have borrowed a skim board from a fisherman before we left Panglao so he and the boys were taking turns on it. The others would fall and slip. Cy didn't coz he's been doing it for the longest time but everyone really was having a great time. That place was paradise! We decided to head back at 2 pm coz we were all hungry for lunch. We had curry and salmon, grilled pork chops and watermelons for dessert. We lounged by the pool and started to pack by 3:30. By 4 pm, the bus came to pick us up to take us to the pier. I didn't wanna leave but I missed Kaya. We're definitely going back. :) Come away with me? |

4/24/06 11:08 pm - Beautiful, beautiful...Saturday...
April 22, 2006... I can't believe it's been a year. Our first wedding anniversary... I had to work late so I got home at midnight. Cy took the day off from work so he was sleeping by the time I got home. I was really happy to see him. I was dead tired and hungry. He woke up the moment I finished getting dressed to go to sleep. He asked me if I wanted to eat anything. I was starving so we had the helper fry us some bacon and make soup. We ate in silence and I was already thinking of our planned beach outing the next day. After eating, he took my hand and led me upstairs. He smiled and said, "I didn't really get you anything really fancy but I hope you like this." He rummaged in the closet, got out a Rustan's bag, reached into it and presented me with a small gaily wrapped box with a pink bow. I took it and read the card which says: Baby, Happy 1st year anniversary! One down, 80 more to go. I love you, Cyrus I was so touched. I felt like a heel coz I didn't even think of getting him anything. "Open it, " he urged. When I did, it's a bottle of my favorite scent, YSL Baby Doll. I hugged him and whispered sheepishly, "I don't have a gift for you." I pouted for extra effect. He pointed to a sleeping Kaya in her crib. "There's your gift." I married a good guy - beautiful inside and out. :) *beams* The next day, we took Kaya to the beach. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves. I hope everyone had a great weekend too! |
4/17/06 03:11 pm - Guess who's ready to go to the beach?Who? :)
I couldn't resist letting her try on her new pink bikini in preparation for next weekend's beach escapade. Her first of many, I'll make sure. Not only that, it'll be our 1st (already???!!!) wedding anniversary. <3 <3 <3 |
